Wordless Wednesdays: New Life Inside

I'm participating in Thematic Photographic 31 - New.

Each of these images are plant parts that hold new life inside.

Pine cones contain seeds, each can become new pine tree.

This is a leaf bud, which contains a new leaf and flower which will emerge in the spring.

This is a sweet gum pod which contains seeds, each seed can become a new sweet gum tree.

This is a locust pod which has seeds inside, each seed can grow into a new locust tree.

These would work well on Dr. Cason's current challenge "A New Beginning".

You could have taken those shots right here in my hometown All of those forms of seed pods are common here.

I think the seeds/fruits are the most interesting parts of a plant. Great images. They show just how much life is there even when the leaves have fallen and the branches are bare.

It's funny, the kids and I always call the sweet gum balls porcupine eggs. :)

Happy America! I know so little about our ecology ... it is a pleasure to visit your WW-meme entry...

I invite your blog readers to smile at this photo of Barack Obama tearing up some fried fish in much the same way we hope he will tear up our current recession.

peace, Villager
