This is Poison Ivy.
In the winter time, the leaves have died, but the remaining vine is alive and can still cause allergic reactions. Remember that Hairy is Scary. Any plant or vine that looks hairy will very likely cause an allergic rash. Don't touch it.

.oO That's good to know!
Wow! Who knew I'd learn something really important on WW! Looks kinda creepy, especially now that I know what it is!
Thanks for stopping by and happy WW!
Good Tip! Happy WW
I wouldn't have recognized it without the leaves. Thanks for the tip! I don't usually have much of a reaction to poison ivy, but I'd rather not put my immunity to the test!
I'd not seen it before either. I'll know to keep clear of it!
Thank you for letting me know. I'm suppose to go hiking soon and would never have thought anything of it.
Happy WW! That is some scary stuff on that tree. I guess I need to go trim my goatee now...
I invite your blog readers to share in thoughts about a piece from Elizabeth Catlett...

That's a good warning. We have a lot of poison ivy in the woods near me and I do notice those scary hairy vines in the winter.
Thanks for the wonderful, educational post.
For some reason, it never occurred to me that Poison Ivy would lose its leaves in the winter. I'm so glad I can recognize it now. I would hate to have an unwitting encounter with it.
I've actually been looking for poison ivy, so I can identify it. I probably have seen some plenty of times, but I'm not good at knowing what I'm looking at. Your short description will help.
I'll walk far away... wouldn't want to scratch myself like a Woofy! :P
